I’d like to introduce myself and share how this began. The photo you see here represents the woman behind UpTied — building this brand with intention, resilience, and purpose.

Von Montgomery is the founder of UpTied Scrunchie & Co. USA, a brand built on confidence, strength, and effortless style. Known for oversized, statement scrunchies, she designs each piece to empower women to show up boldly and unapologetically.

Confidence hasn’t always come easily to me. Past experiences made me second-guess myself and hesitate before trying. Over time, I found comfort in a simple habit — putting my hair up and reminding myself, I’ve got this.

Sewing has been part of my life for many years, starting with home economics and sewing classes throughout high school, and it remained a creative outlet I returned to over time.

During a season of working remotely, my hair was up almost every day. That quiet reminder became part of my routine. One morning — just a week before my birthday — I decided to stop holding myself back and start something of my own. That decision turned into this scrunchie business and the message behind it:

Hair up. You’ve got this.

Each collection is inspired by real life — the quiet effort, growth, and strength it takes to keep going, even when no one is watching.

Outside of creating, I stay active to build confidence and a healthy mindset. I’m a proud dog lover, and I love trying different foods — one of my favorites will always be laap gai with sticky rice, authentically made by my dad, because it feels like home.
